Over the past few weeks, I've been getting ready for the holidays here at my house. These include getting the tree to decorate, putting up lights outside, and just generally making things feel more... happy, for lack of a better word.
No, I don't celebrate christmas - I celebrate the Winter Holidays.
Christmas is specific to one religion, non-inclusive.
Winter Holiday on the other hand, is all inclusive, and celebrates whatever Nov. and Dec. traditions that we may have - may it be gifts on the 25th, lighting the Menorah candles, or just being thankful for what we have.
Its a time of year where people spend time with one another, be it with family or friends, that they may not be able to do other times of year. Its the time of year where its cold outside, and those of us less fortunate may need help.
Be a good person, a true human being, because its the right thing to do, not because some priest told you to. In other words, be good for goodness sake.
