Nampa rec center rejects same-sex couple

Some local news, looks like the Nampa Recreation Center (one of the next cities over from where I live) rejected a same sex couple from getting a family membership on the grounds they couldn't prove that they are legally married.

The comments got a tad bit heated, but there are obviously still some logal and cool-headed people out here.

Now, I get to ask the obvious question - do they make hetero couples prove they are married before allowing a family membership?

Why does Focus On The Family shove their nose in everything?

One thing that has always bothered me about these 'Faith Based Orgs" is the ease at which they shove their nose up in the issues of things that noone other then the individual/family/doctors have any right beind a part of.

Puberty-halting drug 'tragic,' 'ethical bankruptcy'

Not that I am surprised or anything that Caleb Price is browning his nose... But, Focus On The Family really needs to start focusing on themselves and the republican party with their romps in airport bathrooms before they start judging anyone else.

If I had been diagnosed with Gender Identity Disorder/Gender Dysphoria when I was 6 or 7 years old, and been given the chance to delay puberty, it might have made a huge and positive difference in my life. Because I couldn't trust my parents, and under the knowledge that they would have probably abandoned me had they known I wanted to be girl, I had to keep everything inside.

Now, at 27 years old, I'm undoing alot of physical changes/damage that could have been avoided had the doctors provided me with hormone blockers.

Focus On The Family, stay the fuck out of my life. Stop trying to 'fix' people like me, stop shoving your nose in things you have no business being part of. Grow the fuck up.

Linux: A European threat to our computers

This would be certainly true were in not for the Linux projectâ€™s seductive Marxist ideology and the effect that it has on â€˜Blue-Stateâ€™ liberals. Indeed, Linux is so pervasive amongst the blue states and many liberal universities that a leading computer expert Steve Balmer (from Microsoft) described Linux as cancer.

Ahh, those damn blue state commies! Thats right, quote Monkey Boy Ballmer (it's two L's, Tristan).

Imagine if the State of the Union address were hacked because the TV station decided to save money by using Linux? Imagine if a stealth-bomber crashed because itâ€™s software was written by anonymous Chinese or European hackers. It would make as much sense as inviting the French to come over and take over the White-House.

Hacking the state of the union address... Geeze, we should be so lucky! I don't know of any anonymous 'Chinese or European hackers' working on Linux - but I do know of quite a few non-anonymous Chinese and European programmers who are paid to work on Linux and various parts. There are many American programmers being paid to work on Linux as well.

And guess what software Osama Bin Laden uses on his laptop?

If you guessed it was Linux you would be 100% right. Osama uses Linux because he knows designed to counterfit DVDs, curcumventing the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, and defraud companies like Disney.

Hahaha! I almost wet myself reading that.

If you see a company using Linux, it may be that they have not paid for this software. Report them to the Business Software Alliance who have the legal authority to inspect any companyâ€™s computers for illegal programs like Linux.

Please do report to the BSA that the web server hosting my blog runs Linux. I'd be more then happy to show them that my system runs that 'illegal' Linux operating system!

Finally, remember to include Linux users in your prayers tonight. As individuals we may not be able to change peopleâ€™s minds, but the Bible teaches that God can make any sinner repent.

Yup, I think we've just confirmed how far out in right field this individual is. I'm Buddhist, but thank you anyway for your prayers.

Religious Ads: A New Low

Ok, so I'm going to give my standard warning for anyone who wants to read this article:

If you are a highly religious individual who can not take criticism or accept the fact that you may be stepping over the line in your fight to destroy evolution in favor of your Intellegent Design theory (which by the way, as never been proven or backed in scientific facts), you should not read this post. Also, if you are a republican, reading my blog in general may piss you off.

Now, with the standard disclaimer out of the way, lets get to the meat of this article.

I woke up this morning and found that my blog ads had been infested with Intellegent Design (aka: creationism) advertisements - pewforum.org, 1cosmos.org, creationdesign.org, and others.

Now, for those of you who missed my previous post on Intellegent Design, or just don't know what it is in general, its considered junk science by most of the Scientific community. Basically, its a new spin on the old idea that God created everything and anything - but without actually using the word 'god'.

So, let me pose this question to the people who are putting up these ads:

Why, if your theory is so sound, solid, and unrefutable, why do you feel it necessary to boost your views by advertising on Google?

You don't see advertisements trying to shove evolution down people's throats (perhaps because evolution is an accepted theory that is based in fact rather then the bible...). Is this just more desperation? Rather then trying to prove Intellegent Design with actual facts, use a crow bar to ram it down on people while completely dancing around the truth?

No offense to the people who read this and believe in Intellegent Design or Creationisim - but come on. Can we please grow up?

You know, that doll thats really popular with girls these days?

Wel, according to the far right, the doll is designed to make girls lesbians. This is because of the company's support for Girls Inc.

More rants about the religious right and hate crimes

I've been watching various things unfold over the past few months in regards to the increasing attacks and intolerance against the GLBT community by the far right religious fanatics and fundamentalists.

It disgusts me highly to see how casually these people attack and cause hate, then use the bible as their shield. I remember back in 2001 right after the WTC attack, Jerry Falwell and his right wing fundamentalists blamed the attacks on the GLBT community, feminists, ACLU, etc (for those interested in more about Falwell, Rotten.com has a bio here).

Matthew Shepard's death was justified by the fanatics and killers as being dictated or required by the bible.

More recently, we have the case of Gwen Araujo, having been killed by several individuals because of who she was.

So, here in 2005 we have new laws that are being written to try and protect members of the GLBT community - however, there are a large enough group of people blocking these efforts, in an obvious attempt to make sure their future hatred and attacks against others won't be considered hate crimes (and thus face longer jail time/punishments then otherwise).

People need to stop using their religion as a way to justify attacks, killing, and hate. It's too bad most of the people who claim to be Christians or similar don't bother to actually follow some of the things the bible says. Following it only when convenient seems to be popular these days.
